Reticulated foam

Reticulated foam is a highly porous material characterized by 100% open cells, produced through a thermal reticulation process. Foam blocks are placed in a high-pressure reticulation chamber where they are treated with gas to create pores of varying sizes (PPI—pores per linear inch) tailored to customer specifications.
Reticulated foam is available in both ester-based and ether-based variants, each with distinct advantages:
- Ester-based reticulated foam is resistant to petroleum products, making it ideal for filtering and absorbing oils and fuels. In automotive applications, ester-based foam filters provide superior filtration efficiency, extended service life, and reusability compared to traditional paper filters.
- Ether-based reticulated foam is water-resistant, making it particularly suitable for water filtration and related applications.
